Shoener Environmental has been working on wind energy projects since 2000 from our offices in Pennsylvania and California. We have experience working on every stage of project development, from site prospecting to complete site permitting. During construction we assist in site inspections and we also conduct post construction environmental monitoring programs. Example projects include:
Project: Krayn Wind Project Location: Pennsylvania
Client: EverPower Renewables
The Krayn Wind Project is located in southwestern Pennsylvania in Cambria County on a reclaimed strip mine and includes 25 turbines each with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts. We lead the project permitting efforts and we are now performing the post construction bird and bat monitoring program.
Project: Wind Farm Prospecting Location: Western USA

Shoener Environmental has assisted wind energy developers by performing preliminary site assessments to identify prospective wind farm locations using state of the art GIS technology. Prospecting includes evaluation of parameters important to wind farm siting, such as environmental evaluations, land ownership, and transmission capacities. Our clients have relied on Shoener Environmental to assist with land owner negotiations and meteorological (MET) tower siting for wind measurement on sites in Colorado, Montana and California.
Project: Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm Location: Pennsylvania
Client: Gamesa
The Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm is one of the largest wind farms in Pennsylvania and comprises over 200 acres in Cambria and Blair counties in western Pennsylvania. We lead the permitting and environmental study effort. The project was completed in the fall of 2007 and includes 66 wind turbines with a 2 megawatt capacity each.
Project: Midwestern Wind Farms Location: Indiana and Illinois

We conducted visual impact analyses and prepared a comprehensive series of photo-visualizations of various wind farms in Indiana and Illinois.
Project: Howard Wind Farm Location: New York
Client: EverPower Renewables
The Howard Wind Farm site located in Steuben County, New York will consist of approximately 25 turbines, each with a 2.5 megawatt capacity. We have been assisting in analyzing access road issues and in the site civil design.
