Waste Management, Recycling and Reuse
Shoener Environmental assists in obtaining permits to manage waste in environmentally sound ways. Our emphasis is on helping clients to find ways to recycle or reuse waste in a sustainable way.
Shoener Environmental staff members have worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in the Waste Management Programs and Superfund Programs, gaining detailed knowledge of requirements for obtaining waste management permits and cleaning up Brownfield and Superfund sites.
Shoener Environmental has helped clients to manage wastes in the following ways:
- Turning organic waste materials into compost products.
- Using 'clean fill' and 'regulated fill', as defined by the Pennsylvania DEP, to reclaim a mining pit.
- Obtaining permits to construct a waste separation and recycling facility.
- Preparing plans to control hazardous material and petroleum products spills (PPC and SPCC plans).
- Reviewing Superfund cleanup plans to insure that communities concerns are addressed.
